Current students who want to use Westlaw over the summer do not need to extend their passwords. Westlaw does continue to limit use to the following categories:

  1. Summer law school classes and study abroad programs
  2. Law review and journal - including write-on competitions
  3. Research assistant
  4. Moot court
  5. Unpaid internship/externship

Current students don't have to do anything to use Lexis over the summer, and are permitted to use Lexis for any purpose. (During the academic year, Lexis does limit use to academic purposes only.) Your employer may want you to use the research access they provide, so check with your supervisor.
